New Brewery in Rancho Cordova

Craft beer purveyor Ol’ Republic Brewery will come out of the foothills to establish a new brewing facility and tasting room in Rancho Cordova. Nevada City-based Ol’ Republic has signed a lease for an industrial building at 11151 Trade Center Drive in that city, with distribution a key component as well. "We only have so many trucks and so many drivers," said Dennis Yadroff, Ol' Republic's director of retail. The brewery has about 100 active accounts in the Sacramento region between places that pour its beers and sell its bottles, but distance and inclement weather make it difficult at times to meet that demand from Nevada City. The Rancho Cordova site should be up and running by mid- to late March, Yadroff said. Ol’ Republic’s new home in Rancho Cordova is no stranger to craft beer. American River Brewing Co. occupied the 12,000-square-foot space for its own brewing and tasting room operations since 2012. In recent years that brewery was among the largest crafters in the region for production, with 2,100 barrels in 2015. But the owner announced last August he suspended operations, and did not give a reason. Yadroff said Ol' Republic's tasting room there will have a combination of the lagers the brewery set out to make a centerpiece of its operations and the ales and IPAs popular among craft beer fans. Ol' Republic is also planning for regular food truck visits as well as "leisure sports" activities such as darts and shuffleboard at the Rancho Cordova site, he said. In terms of production, the Sacramento brewery is aiming to produce up to 5,000 barrels at the site, with the possibility of adding equipment to expand further down the road, Yadroff said. More
